In response to recent tragic events and the Supreme Court's directive to ensure healthcare professionals' safety, the Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare has urged central government-run hospitals to bolster their security measures. This move comes following the rape and murder of a resident doctor at Kolkata’s R G Kar Medical College and Hospital on August 9.

"He is a hero for all Dilliwallas. He made arrangements for providing 24x7 electricity, free electricity, good government hospitals, and mohalla clinics. Feel extremely sad for him and his family. God bless him."

The clarification from the Health Ministry came after sources said Pandey is likely to be the face of the campaign and she and her team are in talks with ministry officials.

According to sources, Pandey and her team are in talks with the Union Health Ministry and the modalities are being worked out.

Six deaths — three from Karnataka, two from Chhattisgarh and one from Assam — have been reported in a span of 24 hours, according to the ministry’s data updated on Tuesday.
