Speaking on the incident, senior BJP leader and MP Dilip Ghosh said there should be a thorough probe to bring out the truth. This came after state-run SSKM Hospital director Manimoy Bandyopadhyay said CM Banerjee had a fall at her Kalighat residence “due to some push from behind” leading to injuries on her forehead and nose.

West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee’s is stable today, after yesterday’s injury. However, the manner in which she fell has raised eyebrows, leading to police likely to investigate the matter.

Sources from the Trinamool Congress claim that she fell while walking. However, the place of the incident is yet to be disclosed.
