The alliance was solidified after a meeting between BSP supremo Mayawati and Chautala, according to BSP national coordinator Akash Anand.

The CEC meeting for Himachal Pradesh was attended by Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge, former Congress chief Sonia Gandhi, and AICC general secretary K C Venugopal. 

The by-poll is scheduled for May 25, along with the general election for the 10 Lok Sabha seats in the state. 

The Nayab Singh Saini-led government in Haryana marked a significant milestone on Tuesday with its first cabinet expansion, ushering in a wave of new faces to bolster the administration.
