37 full reservoirs: North India lost that much groundwater
According to a new IIT Gandhinagar study, about 450 cubic kilometres of groundwater has been lost in northern India during 2002-2021. It's about 37 times the quantity of water the Indira Sagar dam -- India's largest reservoir -- can hold at full capacity
