Himachal Pradesh’s first green hydrogen-based mobility station will be established in Chamba, Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu announced on Monday after laying the foundation stone for the pilot project.

To support the green hydrogen production, GAIL is also setting up around 20 MW of solar power plants at Vijaipur, both ground-mounted and floating, alongside sourcing renewable power through open access.

Delegates provided comprehensive insights into their respective countries' national strategies for clean hydrogen, emphasizing ongoing R&D initiatives in hydrogen production, storage, and transportation. Discussions also centered on fostering demand, developing infrastructure, and addressing workforce training to facilitate the scaling of hydrogen technologies.

For the first time in the country, an indigenously developed hydrogen fuel cell ferry built by Cochin Shipyard Limited will be launched as part of Atmanirbhar Bharat. This zero-emission, zero-noise vessel is a revolutionary step towards India becoming a hydrogen fuel vessel manufacturer, Sarbananda said.

The MoU aligns with the Government of Maharashtra's ambitious Green Investment Plan, charting a course for sustainable development over the next five years.
