Prime Minister Narendra Modi highlighted the significance of the Voice of Global South Summit, emphasising its role in addressing the needs and aspirations of countries that have historically been marginalised in global discussions.

"It is the need of the hour that the countries of the Global South unite, stand together in one voice, and become each other's strength. Let us learn from each other's experiences. Let us share our capabilities. Let us together take our resolutions to fruition. Let us together get recognition for two-thirds of humanity," the prime minister then added.

During the conference, South East Asian nations, Comoros, and Timor-Leste officially joined the WTO. Goyal emphasized Prime Minister Modi's advocacy for their inclusion, saying, "PM Modi urged that both countries should get a place in the WTO. We are pleased that both countries got inducted."
