In their petition, the victim’s parents have also said that evidence existing on record suggest that at least three individuals were involved in the strangulation of their daughter.

The case came to light through a press statement issued by the Khasi Hills Zone (KHZ) unit of the Garo Students’ Union (GSU) and the SWKH unit of AHAM (Achik Holistic Awakening Movement) on Tuesday. The groups condemned the incident, demanding swift action and justice for the victims.
