India, France, and Australia have once again emphasised their dedication to maintaining a free, open, and rules-based Indo-Pacific region. This reaffirmation came during a virtual meeting where the three countries reviewed the progress made under the three primary pillars of their trilateral cooperation: maritime safety and security, marine and environmental cooperation, and multilateral engagement.

This visit underscores the growing importance of strategic partnerships in the realm of defence, particularly in the context of evolving security challenges in the Indo-Pacific region.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has emerged as the most esteemed global leader, boasting an impressive 78 percent approval rating, surpassing renowned figures like US President Joe Biden, Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, and UK's Rishi Sunak.

"The meeting is viewed as a significant step in enhancing mutual understanding between France and India, reflecting a deep commitment to international diplomacy and the principles of democracy," the Congress said.

The announcement from Jinping comes as Macron's visit to India coincided with the celebration of the 60th anniversary of diplomatic relations between China and France.
