Manmohan Singh's illustrious career has been characterized by landmark achievements, notably his instrumental role in spearheading the historic 1991 economic reforms alongside former Prime Minister PV Narasimha Rao.

Jairam Ramesh stated, "Both of these institutions (AIIMS, and IIT) were commitments made by the Manmohan Singh government in the Andhra Pradesh Reorganisation Act, 2014. Of course, Mr. Modi is now claiming credit." 

Singh's dedication to democracy, notably seen when he voted in the Rajya Sabha on a wheelchair, earned praise from Modi, who emphasised the importance of the House as a symbol of “continuity and vitality”.
