According to data available with the depositories, Foreign Portfolio Investors (FPIs) made a net investment of approximately Rs 2.08 lakh crore in Indian equities and Rs 1.2 lakh crore in the debt market, collectively pumping Rs 3.4 lakh crore into the capital market during the fiscal year.

Rajiv Batra, representing JPMorgan Chase & Co., emphasized that the current positioning of global funds in the Indian stock market indicates a strong interest, with investors poised to capitalize on any market corrections as opportunities to increase their holdings.

The data furnished by depositories revealed a stark contrast to the preceding months, with FPIs exhibiting a modest investment of Rs1,539 crore in February, following a substantial outflow of Rs25,743 crore in January. The fluctuating strategies of FPIs, often influenced by changes in US bond yields, have been closely observed.
