The joint initiative will focus on enhancing water resources management, including assessing irrigation efficiency, conducting comprehensive water accounting studies and mapping cropped areas under the Pradhan Mantri Krishi Sinchai Yojana. Urban flooding will also be addressed, with a focus on forecasting, numerical flood inundation and hazard mapping and urban flood risk management.

Imphal East and West districts, along with Kangpokpi and Senapati, have been hit hard, leaving key roads and areas underwater.
