Gandhi had invited the farm leaders for a meeting in his office in the parliament. Initially the farmers were denied entry into the parliament complex. After the matter was highlighted the farm leaders were allowed inside where they held a detailed meeting with Gandhi.

The Congress also warned the government of intense agitation if there is delay in distributing necessary assistance to the distressed farmers.

In light of the prevalence of misinformation, NABARD called for the cooperation of all stakeholders in ensuring the dissemination of accurate information and discouraging the spread of falsehoods.

In a significant development aimed at alleviating commuter woes, the Delhi Police has commenced the process of dismantling cemented barricades erected on the Delhi-Ghazipur border.

The high court had formed the committee headed by retired HC judge Jaishree Thakur to inquire into the various aspects of the case, saying the investigation regarding the death of Shubhkaran, 21, cannot be entrusted solely either to Punjab or to Haryana for "reasons obvious as both states have several things to cover up". 

Under the KALIA scheme, the government provides financial assistance to needy farmers to carry forward their cultivation activities. A farmer gets Rs 4,000 per annum in two instalments — Rs 2,000 for kharif and Rs 2,000 for rabi crops.

In his address at a mega farmers' rally in Raipur, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh reiterated the Modi government's unwavering support for farmers and rural development.

Under the assured procurement guarantee scheme, all farmers across all states will be eligible for procurement at MSP. However, the benefits of the scheme will be exclusively reserved for those farmers who transition to pulses and maize cultivation. Existing growers of these crops will not qualify for the scheme's benefits.

During the launch event, Goyal emphasized the transformative potential of the digital gateway, which will enable farmers to access post-harvest loans from banks using electronic Negotiable Warehouse Receipts (e-NWRs). Currently, there are over 5,500 registered warehouses under the Warehousing Development and Regulatory Authority (WDRA), providing a substantial infrastructure for this initiative.

Shubhkaran (21), a native of Bathinda, was killed and 12 security personnel were injured in clashes at Khanauri on the Punjab-Haryana border on February 21. The incident occurred when some protesting farmers were trying to head towards police barricades, put up to halt their "Delhi Chalo" march.

Gurudev Sri Sri Ravi Shankar expressed the view that Maharashtra is synonymous with devotion and valour. He drew attention to the fact that the state has set a compelling example for farmers nationwide through dedication and focus. He also emphasised that all farmers should make the switch from chemical to natural farming and that meaningful change occurs when people unite, asserting that the government alone cannot achieve significant outcomes.
