The Economic Survey released on Monday emphasized the urgent need for viable and cost-effective housing solutions. The survey projects an encouraging outlook for the sector, spotlighting the anticipated urban population surge.

It was "ultimate irony," the Survey noted, that developed nations were obsessing over emissions from the developing world even as widespread adoption and race for AI was poised to push up their energy demands like never before.

According to the Economic Survey, Maharashtra's economy, which is the top contributor to the national nominal GDP, is expected to expand by 7.6% in 2023-24. This growth rate aligns with the country's projected growth of 7.6%. The state had recorded a growth rate of 6.8% in the previous fiscal year. The survey provides a detailed analysis of various sectors within the state; Agriculture and allied activites, Industry and services.

GSDP grew at 8.8% annually in last 3 years, growth rate estimated at 7.1 % in 2022-23 and projected at 7.7% in 2024-25.

The Centre released a report titled ‘Indian Economy–A Review’, outlining India’s economic trajectory over the past decade. The report highlights ambitious projections, forecasting India to achieve a $5 trillion economy in the next three years, with aspirations to reach $7 trillion by 2030.
