External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar has extended his congratulations to Vikram Misri on his new appointment as Foreign Secretary of India. Taking to social media platform X, Jaishankar expressed his best wishes for Misri, hoping for a productive and successful tenure.

The decision, approved by the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet, will see Misri assume office from July 15, succeeding Vinay Kwatra, who is expected to become India's ambassador to the US.
