Karthik, who has represented India in 180 matches across all three formats, amassed 3463 runs, including one Test century and 17 half-centuries. 

With commentators calling Karthik a ‘lone warrior’, his explosive knock of 83 off 35 balls was appreciated by the crowd, as well as his team, as he took the team to 262, a ‘respectable score’ to lose the match.

The 38-year-old cricketer, who has become a staple in the league since its inception in 2008, will be making a pivotal decision regarding his international career following the conclusion of the T20 league.
