The police recovered a .32 bore pistol, 2 magazines, 9 live cartridges, and an empty bullet shell from Vikramjit's possession.

Acting on a tip-off, police launched an operation and apprehended the accused when they were waiting to deliver the consignment in the Vallah area. The weapons were procured from illegal dealers in Madhya Pradesh and were intended for delivery to criminal elements in the Guru Tegh Bahadur Market area.

Director General of Police Gaurav Yadav announced the breakthrough on social media, stating that a case has been registered at the State Special Operation Cell in Amritsar. 

The DGP said further investigations are going on to establish linkages in this case. 

Punjab Police launched a targeted operation on Thursday, raiding the hideouts of 246 significant drug smugglers who are currently out on bail. These individuals, known as "big fish," were caught with 2 kg or more of contraband substances. This initiative is part of the police force's ongoing efforts to combat the drug menace in the state.
