In a significant diplomatic move, Defense Minister Rajnath Singh engaged in a telephonic conversation with US Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin on Monday, delving into a spectrum of bilateral, regional security, and defense cooperation issues.

Raksha Mantri Rajnath Singh, in an address at a Defence Summit in New Delhi, emphasized the significant strides taken by the Indian government under Prime Minister Narendra Modi's leadership to strengthen the country's defence apparatus. 

The Ministry of Defence (MoD) has taken a significant stride towards bolstering India's defense capabilities and promoting indigenous manufacturing with the signing of five major capital acquisition contracts worth Rs 39,125.39 crore on March 1, 2024, in New Delhi.

The approved procurement list encompasses a diverse range of critical equipment, including new-gen anti-tank mines, Air defence tactical control radar, etc.
