The Delhi High Court has instructed the Election Commission to address concerns regarding the use of deepfake technology in election campaigns, particularly amid the controversy surrounding a video allegedly featuring Union Home Minister Amit Shah. The Court emphasised the urgency of the matter and directed the EC to make a decision by Monday.

Vaishnaw highlighted that social media platforms are no longer mere platforms as they were three decades ago, with most platforms already moderating content. 

The video shows Sachin Tendulkar talking about the merits of the application, saying he did not know that money making has become so easy and that his own daughter uses the platform.
