The order, issued by additional district magistrate Th Manoranjan Singh on Tuesday, permits easing of movement within Jiribam Municipal area from 9am to 1.30pm on June 19.

The district administration has also suspended internet service in certain sensitive areas of the town and urged people to stay in their homes and not to step out.

The report claims that the incident was not isolated, but rather the culmination of rising communal tensions fueled by divisive rhetoric and policies.

The clash, which resulted in six fatalities and around 60 injuries, prompted families to move out amidst a curfew enforced in the region.

The situation is currently under control, with both the local police force and the Central Armed Police Forces (CAPF) deployed throughout the city, the SSP then added.
