Sworn in on Monday for his fourth term as Prime Minister at the age of 72, Oli has decided to proceed with the confidence vote this Sunday.

Oli, 72, leader of Nepal's largest communist party, was appointed by President Ram Chandra Paudel to head a coalition government with the Nepali Congress (NC) and smaller parties, following the ousting of Pushpa Kamal Dahal 'Prachanda' after a confidence vote loss in the House of Representatives (HoR).

This declaration comes on the eve of a crucial confidence vote in Parliament, which could see Oli reinstated as Prime Minister.

The turning point came as coalition ministers from the Communist Party of Nepal-Unified Marxist Leninist (CPN-UML) resigned en-masse, retracting their support.
