Former Union Minister and Hamirpur MP Anurag Singh Thakur has openly criticised the Himachal Pradesh Congress government’s recent decision to discontinue the Himcare card services in private hospitals. Thakur described the move as a draconian decree that goes against the public interest.

In a dramatic response to the recently unveiled Union Budget for 2024-25, Congress Chief Ministers have decided to boycott the NITI Aayog meeting scheduled for July 27. This decision marks a significant political move, highlighting the deep dissatisfaction within the party regarding the latest fiscal policies.

Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu met with former Haryana Chief Minister and Union Minister of Power, Manohar Lal Khattar, in Chandigarh on Friday. The two leaders engaged in a detailed discussion on various important topics, including power, smart cities, and other pertinent issues concerning Himachal Pradesh.

A central team assessed the damage and recommended Rs 9,042 crore in financial assistance, which is still pending with the ministry.

He also discussed the potential for generating 1,000 MW of hybrid solar and wind energy in Spiti and sought support for a mega solar project.

"The voters have strongly rejected the politics of horse-trading and have voted to maintain political integrity in the state." 

Amid an escalating political battle over the water crisis in Delhi, Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Minister Atishi announced on Wednesday that she will resort to a 'Satyagraha' if the city does not receive its rightful share of water by June 21. The water shortage has become a critical issue in the national capital, impacting millions of residents.

The Chief Minister said that the Himachal Pradesh government would ensure that the guilty face strict action.

The Supreme Court of India has raised serious concerns about the existence of tanker mafias and the wastage of water in Delhi. On Tuesday, the court demanded an affidavit from the AAP government, detailing the measures taken to prevent water loss in the capital.

The Supreme Court has postponed the hearing of the Delhi government’s plea for surplus water from Himachal Pradesh to June 12. This delay comes as the people of the national capital face a severe water shortage.

"Modi made all-out efforts to topple the democratically-elected Congress government in the state by indulging in corrupt practices and using money power," she said at a rally in Himachal Pradesh's Chamba. 

Around 800 Tibetan exiles are registered as voters in the Dharamshala assembly segment.
