Pakistan Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Chinese President Xi Jinping agreed to upgrade the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) and advance its high-quality development during Sharif's official visit to Beijing.

Sharif is currently on a visit to China at the invitation of President Xi Jinping, seeking to upgrade cooperation under the multi-billion dollar China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC), a key part of Beijing's Belt and Road Initiative.

Assistance includes constructing steelhead bunkers and providing Unmanned Aerial and Combat Aerial Vehicles.

The CPEC, which connects Gwadar Port in Pakistan’s Balochistan with China’s Xinjiang province, is opposed by India as it passes through Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK).
