Garhwal Commissioner Vinay Shankar Pandey said it has been decided to postpone the Yatra for the safety of pilgrims.

The Uttarakhand Director General of Police, Abhinav Kumar, conducted a high-level meeting at the state secretariat to address the unexpected surge of devotees arriving for the Char Dham Yatra.

Drills are being conducted as part of disaster management, so that loss of life and property can be minimised during the yatra.
