The Uttarakhand government has taken steps to ensure the smooth management of the Char Dham Yatra by deploying Yatra Magistrates at the highly revered Badrinath and Kedarnath temples. The influx of devotees has reached unprecedented levels, prompting the need for enhanced crowd control measures.

The Uttarakhand Director General of Police, Abhinav Kumar, conducted a high-level meeting at the state secretariat to address the unexpected surge of devotees arriving for the Char Dham Yatra.

The agitators created a ruckus in support of more than half a dozen of their demands, including stopping the VIP "darshan" system in Badrinath, removing barricades from the traditional routes for the locals and the facility of entering the temple as before.
