Sources said that the CBI team has arrested the accused Aman Singh from Bindu Apartment in Bapu Nagar under Saraidhela police station area of Dhanbad.

During the hearing, the bench posed several questions to senior advocate Jaideep Gupta, representing the West Bengal police, as to why suspended TMC leader Shahjahan Sheikh was not promptly arrested after the January 5 attack and why was there a delay in the investigation of the case.

Earlier on Tuesday, the CBI's attempts to secure custody of suspended TMC leader Shajahan Sheikh were thwarted by the West Bengal CID, citing the state government's appeal to the Supreme Court against a Calcutta High Court order.
