CM Stalin has been told that 11 relief camps have already been established in the district and about 1,086 people have been shifted to the camps.

The Karnataka Government announced on Sunday its decision to release only 8,000 cusecs of water from the Cauvery River to Tamil Nadu, rather than the previously stipulated one thousand million cubic metres of water. This decision came after an all-party meeting held at Vidhana Soudha in Bengaluru to address the directives of the Cauvery Water Regulation Committee (CWRC).

“All parties are together on Karnataka’s water issue. Therefore, an all-party meeting will be held (on July 14),” the Chief Minister said.

Among other reasons, Tamil Nadu farmer's demands include releasing the share of Cauvery water from Karnataka that is due for Tamil Nadu.

“It is totally false. There is no water to be released. It is just a political game they (BJP) are trying,” said Shivakumar, who is also the State Congress President.

In a recent development, most schools and colleges in Bengaluru have shifted to online mode. Work from home until the monsoon hits the state is a call echoing from several parts of the city.
