Kaveri Baweja, the Special judge for ED and CBI cases extended Kavitha's custody till April 23 after she was produced before the court on expiry of her judicial remand granted earlier. 

Kavitha had approached the court for interim bail, saying her 16-year-old son has exams and needs his mother’s “moral and emotional support”.

The Rouse Avenue court in Delhi has postponed its decision on Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) MLC K Kavitha’s request for interim bail to April 9. Kavitha, who is currently in judicial custody due to her involvement in an alleged money laundering case related to the Delhi Excise policy, has cited her son's upcoming exam as the reason for seeking bail.

The decision came after the Enforcement Directorate (ED) chose not to seek an extension of her custodial interrogation.
