A petition has been filed in the Delhi High Court seeking the cancellation of the Wrestling Federation of India (WFI) election and the appointment of a one-man committee to oversee the process.

This delay comes due to a crucial piece of evidence—a mobile phone seized during the investigation—still being held at the Forensic Science Lab (FSL) in Rohini, Delhi.

The Rouse Avenue Court has set the stage for the trial of former MP and ex-WFI Chief Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh, along with Vinod Tomar, in a significant sexual harassment case. This development follows the court's directive to begin proceedings and record statements from prosecution witnesses starting July 26.

JD(S) leader HD Revanna, MLA from Holenarasipura, was released from Parappana Agrahara Jail on conditional bail in a kidnapping case related to the 'obscene video' controversy. Granted bail by a special court, Revanna was required to furnish a Rs 5 lakh bond.

The court will formally frame the charges on May 21. It also ordered framing of charges in the case against co-accused and former WFI assistant secretary Vinod Tomar.
