A father-son duo and another young child are yet to be traced, say officials.

Six persons had been rescued, of whom three had been hospitalised and three others had been released.

A medical superintendent of SMHS Hospital in Srinagar said seven persons had been brought to the hospital, of which four had died. Three others were being treated.

According to the Commission for Missing Persons and Victims of Violence (KontraS Aceh), 42 men, 18 women, and nine children were safely brought to port, but fears persist for the fate of those still missing.

A preliminary investigation by authorities revealed that the boat, retrieved from the muddy waters, had only 14 seats, nearly half of the number of persons it was carrying during the tragic incident.
