The conflict between Bihar Raj Bhavan and the state's education department has taken a dramatic turn as Bihar Raj Bhavan intervened to unfreeze the bank accounts of state-run universities.

In a dramatic turn of events in Bihar's political arena, the Congress party has announced its intention to seek the disqualification of two party MLAs who recently defected to the BJP-led NDA coalition. The move underscores growing tensions within the state's political landscape and raises questions about the integrity of democratic principles.

The members of the state legislative assembly will elect candidates for these 11 seats on March 21 when the counting of votes will take place in the evening and shall have to be completed by March 23.  

Yadav stated, "I am thankful to our leader of the House and other NDA leaders for providing me this opportunity. I have assured all legislators of the House that I will remain impartial while delivering the constitutional duty." 

Yadav, a seven-time MLA from Patna Sahib assembly constituency had filed his nomination for the Speaker's post on Tuesday, a day after his predecessor, Awadh Bihari Choudhary of the RJD, was voted out in a no-confidence motion.

Yadav who was speaking during the debate on the confidence motion moved by the Kumar-led NDA government in the assembly, also mocked CM Nitish Kumar for being sworn in "for a record ninth time". 

Chaudhary, who belongs to the RJD, had earlier refused to step down after his party lost power a fortnight ago when Chief Minister Nitish Kumar snapped ties with  'Mahagathbandhan' and returned to the BJP-led coalition.

"I am not going to resign. I will be in the assembly on February 12 and conduct proceedings of the House as per rules," Chaudhary told reporters. The Nitish Kumar government is also scheduled to seek a trust vote.
