"Congress had given appointments to players on senior posts like DSP under the 'bring medals, get post’ policy. However, the BJP stopped this policy as soon as it came to power and took away the right of appointment to high posts from the players. BJP is discriminating against the players to such an extent that it has not given promotion to the players who became DSPs during the Congress tenure till date", he stated.

Hooda said, "We have an alliance at the national level (with the AAP) but as far as state level is concerned, no talks have been held with any party. The Congress is capable (to win) on its own. No talks have been held yet".

"Elections happen, MLAs are elected, observers are sent and they take their view, and then the high command decides who will be CM," Hooda stated.

Hooda praised Vinesh Phogat's Olympic performance, stating that she had brought glory to the country. He demanded that Phogat be sent to the Rajya Sabha, citing her excellent performance in the Olympics.

"Hundreds of sports stadiums were built in villages during Congress tenure, but BJP did not even maintain them properly. BJP also stopped the school-level sports competition SPAT started by Congress. Haryana has got only a 3 percent share from the 'Khelo India' budget. Whereas Haryana's players bring the maximum number of medals in sports. It is clear from all these things that it wants to make the youth of Haryana drug addicts, not sportspersons,” he pointed out.

The teachers expressed their frustration with the additional non-teaching work imposed on them, which affects the quality of education.

He criticised the saffron party for reducing the creamy layer limit, which led to lakhs of OBC families being deprived of reservation, and thousands of youth being denied government jobs and admission to government educational institutions.

"Congress freed the traders from inspectors and hooliganism, but BJP protected the criminals and got the traders shot at. Congress made Haryana the number one state in the country in terms of per capita income, per capita investment, and employment, while BJP made it number one in unemployment, crime, and drug addiction," he added. 

Former Haryana Chief Minister and Leader of Opposition in the Assembly Bhupinder Singh Hooda has promised a railway connection and a new university for Mewat when his party, the Congress, comes to power in the state.

Hooda slammed the BJP for its unfulfilled promises, including implementation of the Swaminathan report, doubling farmers' income, employment for all, and pucca houses for all, which were made in 2014.

"By taking a u-turn on every decision, the BJP has accepted both its defeat and failure. Instead of asking for votes in the upcoming assembly elections, this government should seek an apology from the public. The BJP has lost the right to remain in power," he added.
