Vajpayee’s political journey began with his active involvement in the Bharatiya Jana Sangh, which later became the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).

"In 2002, Advani ji had saved Narendra Modi. The then prime minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee had reminded Modi lesson of 'Raj Dharma' and wanted to remove him from the post of CM. However, only one person saved him and that was Advani (at a BJP meeting) in Goa”, said Jairam Ramesh.

'Atal' Pathway to the Himalayas: The famous 9 km long Atal tunnel linking Manali to Sissu in Himachal Pradesh remains functional in the face of blizzards and heavy snow after an unnaturally long dry spell this season. Traffic via the tunnel faced short breaks but kept moving.
