"I will rent a house there (Jalandhar). It is not that this house will be (rented) only up to July 10 (when the results of the by-poll will be declared). This house will later become the office for Majha and Doaba regions for two or three days every week. I will stay there," he said. 

With this list, the Congress party has announced candidates for 145 out of 147 Assembly segments in Odisha. One each goes to JMM & CPI(M).

When questioned about the delay in holding Assembly polls in Jammu and Kashmir alongside the Lok Sabha elections, the CEC highlighted the necessity of providing security forces to every candidate in the Union Territory, which is impractical when elections are happening nationwide.

The CEC said that the ECI wants environmentally sustainable elections and ensures proper waste management at polling stations. We want to reduce paperwork. We are also leveraging technology."

ED arrested Soren on Wednesday in a money laundering case. The court remanded him to ED custody for five days on Friday.
