Under the 'Pragyan Bharati Scheme', Sarma distributed Rs 68.44 crore to 349 institutions to facilitate free enrollment in arts, science, and commerce streams.

Previously, the scheme was available to students whose parental annual income did not exceed Rs 2 lakh.

The decision aims to motivate students to excel in their examinations and is expected to benefit approximately 22,000 students achieving the required percentage in the HS exams.
