The districts currently submerged in floodwaters include Cachar, Karimganj, Morigaon, Hojai, Nagaon, Dima Hasao, Hailakandi, and West Karbi Anglong. A total of 19 revenue circles in these districts are affected.

The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has noted that the southwest monsoon has entered Assam and other parts of the northeast region ahead of its scheduled time due to the effects of Cyclone Remal.
