Warring along with some other Punjab Congress leaders and workers were detained by the police.

Warring said that he was not satisfied with the action being taken by the state government to curb this menace.  "Every time a chief minister comes and presents data that he has taken action against so many persons," said Warring, asking, "How will you end drugs and how will you wean away (people) from drugs?". 

"For the first time, any party and their leaders have said that they will change and scrap the Constitution if they win the election," said Gandhi targeting the BJP.

"People will not tolerate them," Warring asserted while talking to reporters here. Former Punjab minister Malkit Singh Birmi and former MLA Luv Kumar Goldy rejoined the Congress.

As soon as the governor began delivering his address, Punjab Congress chief Amrinder Singh Raja Warring raised the farmers' issue and said that homage be paid to Shubhkaran Singh - 21-year-old who died during clashes between the protesting farmers and Haryana security personnel.
