Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann slammed Shah over his remarks and said, "Do you have the courage to topple the government? We have 92 seats. They are threatening us. Are you coming (here) to seek votes or threaten to topple the government?" 

Mann said, "Thanks to the Supreme Court... now we will fight the battle to save democracy with more intensity... Arvind Kejriwal is not a person but a thought...and now will take this thought forward with greater momentum." 

A 2011-batch IAS officer, Sidhu, who is contesting the Bathinda parliamentary constituency on a BJP ticket, had put in her papers last month seeking voluntary retirement, also requesting that the condition of a three-month notice period be waived. 

MLA Lalpura said that all of the workers who switched to AAP will be given full respect, claiming that the Congress leaders are becoming turncoats as they are not respected by the grand old party fold. 

"Voters of the Gurdaspur Lok Sabha seat have seen MPs of the BJP-SAD combine and the Congress. They are now fed up with them and they want to give a chance to a new face this time," Kalsi stated. 

Goldy left Congress over the denial of the ticket from the Sangrur Lok Sabha seat. 

Mann said people from every section of Punjab are joining the AAP as they are impressed by the work of the AAP government in the last two years, according to the statement. 

There are still some more candidates to be announced by the Congress, the BJP and the Akali Dal. The political grapevine does not rule out the fielding of a few more turncoats who may end up making the final cut.

The Congress party convened a Central Election Committee (CEC) meeting at its New Delhi headquarters, chaired by Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge and Sonia Gandhi, to finalise Lok Sabha candidates for Punjab and other states.
