Barricades have been put up and paramilitary personnel deployed at the site to stop the protesters, the officer said.

Remarks made as AAP workers are marching towards BJP's office following the arrest of Kejriwal's PA in an alleged assault case against AAP parliamentarian Swati Maliwal

Kejriwal, who is also the AAP national convener, was arrested last month by the Enforcement Directorate in an excise policy-linked money laundering case. He was sent to judicial custody till April 15.  

AAP MLAs, MPs, office bearers, alongside party workers and supporters, are expected to participate in this protest.

Last year, Sanjay Singh was detained by the Enforcement Directorate in relation to the Delhi liquor excise policy case.

Congress general secretary, organisation, K C Venugopal addressed the preparatory meeting of the party's Delhi and Haryana leaders. 

The Press Club of India and the Delhi Union of Journalists expressed shock and condemned the police action against the photojournalists who were covering the AAP protest in the national capital. The Working News Cameraman's Association has released photographs which showed some police officers holding some photojournalists by their throats and threatening others with dire consequences, it said.

Bharti tweeted from his X handle about his detention  with Delhi Assembly Deputy Speaker and AAP's Mangolpuri MLA Rakhi Birla.

Entry and exit have been restricted at Patel Chowk and Central Secretariat metro stations.

A Delhi Traffic Police officer said movement is likely to be affected in parts of New Delhi and Central Delhi due to the protest. "Robust security arrangements have been made. We have installed layers of security to maintain law and order in the area," the Delhi Police officer said.

It was unequivocally decided that Kejriwal would not relinquish his role as the Chief Minister of Delhi.
