Among the constituencies, Arambag parliamentary seat reported the highest polling percentage at 76.90%, closely followed by Bangaon at 75.73%, and Uluberia at 74.50%. 

Besides welcoming EC’s decision of 7 phase elections in state, Chowdhury emphasised the importance of deploying central forces well in advance of the polling dates to instil a sense of security among voters.

“We wanted a single or twin phase Lok Sabha election in the state. Our views were that a multiple-phase election helps political parties with deeper pockets, and gives them an advantage over others,” West Bengal Finance Minister Chandrima Bhattacharya said, addressing a press conference.
