The Bharatiya Janata Party in Uttar Pradesh will observe the Emergency Protest Day as Black Day with district-level seminars, participation from senior leaders, and a commitment to honor MISA prisoners and protect democracy.

BJP State Vice President Trimbak Tripathi said that the Emergency imposed by the Congress on June 25, 1975 led to the murder of democracy, violation of human rights and other types of atrocities on the countrymen.

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in Uttar Pradesh will organise district-level seminars on Tuesday to mark Emergency Protest Day, which is observed as Black Day.

BJP State Vice President Trimbak Tripathi said the Emergency imposed by the Congress on 25 June 1975 resulted in the "murder of democracy," human rights violations, and other atrocities against the country.

"It is remembered in history as Black Day," he said.

Tripathi noted that Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, state party president Bhupendra Singh Chaudhary, Deputy Chief Minister Keshav Prasad Maurya, and Brajesh Pathak will participate in programmes organised by the party to commemorate Black Day.

He added that ministers, party officials, and senior leaders of the state government will take part in district-level events across the state.

The programmes will honour MISA prisoners and include a pledge of commitment to protect democracy, remembering the atrocities committed during the Emergency.
