Rajasthan's Lok Sabha polls in 2 phases: April 19 & April 26 ; polling stations to ramp up surveillance with webcasting systems

Rajasthan's 25 Lok Sabha constituencies will vote in two phases on April 19 and April 26, with results to be announced on June 4, as announced by the Election Commission of India (ECI).

 

First Phase Constituencies  - April 19 : Includes Sriganganagar, Bikaner, Churu, Jhunjhunu, Sikar, Jaipur, Jaipur Rural, Bharatpur, Karauli-Dholpur, Dausa, and Tonk-Sawai Madhopur.

 

Second Phase Constituencies - April 26 : Covers the remaining 13 seats in southern Rajasthan, including Ajmer, Nagaur, Pali, Jalore, Barmer, Jodhpur, and Udaipur.

 

With over 50 million eligible voters spread across 51,756 polling stations, including over 1.2 million individuals above 80 years old, preparations are underway.

 

State election commissioner Praveen Gupta highlighted that around 50% of polling stations will have webcasting systems for the first time, a significant increase from 15% during the December assembly polls. Additionally, complaints can be registered through the C-Vigil app.

 

Gupta reported a significant increase in seizures of freebies, drugs, illicit liquor, and cash, totaling ₹280 crore in the last three months. This marks a substantial rise from the corresponding figure of ₹51 crore at the end of the 2019 general election.
