Former cricketer Sourav Ganguly meets BJP state chief injured in Sandeshkhali

Former Indian Cricket player Sourav Ganguly went to meet Bharatiya Janata Party state president Sukanta Majumdar on Friday to inquire about his health condition.

 

Few days ago, Majumdar was admitted to a private hospital situated in EM bypass, after being injured on his way to strife-torn Sandeshkhali on Tuesday.

 

BJP leadership has been paying a visit to the hospital to take note of Majumdar’s health condition. 

 

Ganguly’s mother is also, reportedly, admitted in a private hospital from a few days near EM Bypass. He went to take note of his mother’s medical condition and used the opportunity to meet Majumdar too.  

 

The meeting has sparked speculations on Ganguly joining the saffron clan. Since Lok Sabha polls near, the BJP might give a ticket to Ganguly, claimed sources. Given previous developments, inducting Ganguly into the BJP is a known plan of the party.  

 

On the day of the incident, BJP state president was first taken to Basirhat sub-district hospital in an unconscious state. He was given oxygen, and doctors also did several tests. However, the BJP leadership took an initiative to bring Majumdar to the hospital in Kolkata, alleging medical negligence in the government hospital.
