India's women Twenty20 cricket franchise league Women Premier League had a kickstart today, with the opening game scheduled between Mumbai Indians and Delhi Capitals.
The WPL opening ceremony took place on Friday at M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru featuring electrifying performances from Bollywood stars, including Shahrukh Khan.
Kartik Aaryan commenced the ceremony with a gleaming performance, followed by Sidharth Malhotra, with subsequent appearances by Tiger Shroff, Varun Dhawan, and Shahid Kapoor.
Shah Rukh Khan ignited the stage with a dynamic performance at the opening ceremony.
The renowned Bollywood icon commenced with an inspiring address, captivating the audience with his exceptional dance moves, and concluded his performance with his famous iconic pose from the film 'Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge'.
SRK then proceeded to invite each of the five WPL captains onto the stage to inaugurate the second season of the Women's Premier League. WPL 2024 will feature five teams: Mumbai Indians, Delhi Capitals, Gujarat Giants, Royal Challengers Bangalore, and UP Warriorz.
