Pro-Kabaddi league: Puneri Paltan 'steal' league title from Haryana Steelers

Puneri Paltan secured their inaugural Pro Kabaddi League trophy by overcoming a spirited Haryana Steelers in a closely contested match held at the GMC Balayogi Stadium on Friday.

 

In a match that could have swung in either direction, Puneri Paltan emerged victorious with a final score of 28-25. They took an early lead, showcasing strong defence. Ankit initiated the scoring for the Steelers, with Rahul Sethpal leading their offensive efforts to keep the competition engaging.

 

The first half witnessed Puneri Paltan excelling in their raids, and a standout moment occurred when Pankaj Mohite executed a 'super raid,' earning four points and providing his team with a decisive advantage.

 

Ashish's successful raid for the Steelers in the closing moments of the first half narrowed the score to 10-13 as they entered the final 20 minutes.

 

The lone 'all-out' of the final occurred during Mohit Goyat's raid, significantly boosting Puneri Paltan's lead at the beginning of the second half.

 

Despite this setback, the resilient Haryana Steelers, particularly their raiders, entered the fray, securing numerous bonus points to keep the contest entertaining.
