A Bengaluru bound Air India flight returned to Delhi shortly after takeoff on Friday after a fire in its air conditioning unit.

The aircraft took off from Delhi at 6pm with 175 passengers on board (Image: For representation). 

An Air India flight bound for Bengaluru returned to Delhi shortly after takeoff on Friday because of a fire in its air conditioning unit, sources said.

 

AI 807 made an emergency landing at Indira Gandhi International Airport at 6.38 pm aftera fire in its air conditioning unit. The aircraft took off from Delhi at 6pm with 175 passengers on board. 

 

No casualties were reported, sources said.

 

The passengers flew to Bengaluru later on a separate flight.
