Six of these AIIMS, situated in Bhopal, Bhubaneswar, Jodhpur, Patna, Raipur, and Rishikesh, are fully functional.

Additionally, Mandaviya mentioned that six more AIIMS are in different stages of operationalization, namely Rajkot (Gujarat), Vijaypur (Jammu), Madurai (Tamil Nadu), Awantipora (Kashmir), Rewari (Haryana), and Darbhanga (Bihar).

Notably, the AIIMS in Guwahati, established in the Northeast region, is already functional. The Health Minister clarified that no new proposals for AIIMS establishment were approved during the fiscal year 2022-23.
