Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman unveiled nine key priorities in the Union Budget 2024-25 with the Union government, this time, setting its priorities to boosting productivity, creating jobs, promoting social justice, enhancing urban development, ensuring energy security, upgrading infrastructure, driving innovation, and implementing reforms.

These priorities aim to stimulate economic growth and opportunities.

Sitharaman emphasised the Centre's commitment to developing climate-resilient seeds through comprehensive research. This initiative will help farmers adapt to changing environmental conditions and improve crop yields.

Additionally, large-scale vegetable production clusters will be promoted to increase output and meet the growing demand for fresh produce.

The government will also release 109 new high-yielding, climate-resilient seeds for 32 field and horticulture crops. This move aims to enhance food security and support farmers in their efforts to increase productivity.

Implementation of schemes announced in the interim budget in February is ongoing, with the government working to ensure a smooth rollout of these initiatives.
